To further enhance your fit-out, 45dB Systems introduces Sound+ – the Sounds of Australia.

Sound masking is an essential tool to take control of the ambient sound level in your office, accurately, uniformly, and constantly covering speech frequencies to maximise productivity, privacy, and acoustic comfort. However, in certain areas such as reception, breakout, relaxation, gaming, or café spaces—where communal interaction takes place—we can overlay the masking already in place with additional sounds. This enhances the ambience of those spaces and encourages different work modes, allowing workers to behave more naturally than they might otherwise in a quiet office setting.

Sound+ is a library of sounds from outside your office, drawn from natural and urban environments. Recorded 24/7, they run in sync with the time of day at your workplace, reflecting the natural changes in those locations throughout the day, truly bringing the outside in.

Imagine the sound of a real café subtly overlaying the otherwise “office” sound in the café space at work. The sound connects staff to that space in a familiar way, encouraging them to relax in conversation or informal meetings. As the hustle and bustle of a real café naturally increases over breakfast and lunchtime and subsides at other times, so too will your soundscape—always in sync with the daily rhythm.

Natural biophilic sounds from a national park or maybe your favourite beach location also change from dawn to dusk:. Bird song in the morning as you arrive at work, walking through reception past a green wall perhaps or enjoying a morning coffee in the breakout space, through to the early evening cicadas as you leave at the end of a good day.

Our team has been busy building a catalogue of sounds from all over Australia—from rainforests to the outback, cafés to beach clubs, urban parks to even railway stations!

Using high-resolution recording equipment, we have captured full days and nights of sound from these locations, calibrated to run in your workplace at the same times they were recorded, providing a natural circadian rhythm to your day.

Sound+ consists of the following soundscapes:

• Tranquillity – long-form recordings from some of Australia’s most audibly beautiful locations. Biophilic sound is proven to reduce stress, lower heart rates, and promote a sense of calm. Ideal for reception, breakout, relaxation, or café areas. (We advise against biophilic sounds over workspaces, however, as they can distract from focused tasks.)

• Community – urban sounds of cafés, cityscapes, even Sydney Harbour ferries. These can be delivered subtly in higher-tempo areas where collaborative work gets done.

• Identity – iconic sounds of Australia for reception or client meeting spaces, reinforcing company origins and culture.
